(ABOUT BROOKLYN)

ABOUT BROOKLYN FERRY BOOKS

OUR GOAL is to better understand the history of Brooklyn and its residents, from the many years it was home to the Lenape all the way to the present.

OUR PHILOSOPHY is that anyone who has ever lived in or even stepped foot Brooklyn has been a part of its history, and by sharing their stories we can better understand that history.

OUR PLAN is to solicit, edit, publish, and proliferate nonfiction stories about Brooklyn from anyone who has ever lived in or visited the borough, and similarly disseminate out-of-print and/or public domain documents and texts about the history of Brooklyn.

WE WILL PUBLISH physical books and e-books, as well as pamphlets and essays. We'll welcome all types of stories, from personal accounts of what it was (or is) like to grow up in Brooklyn to academic texts about the borough's storied past and continuous evolution.

AS A NON-PROFIT PRESS, our focus will be on collecting, organizing, presenting, and disseminating information, not on making money off writers or readers.

LIKE BROOKLYN, we're only just getting going,

so please return to this site for information

about calls for submissions and our first publications.
